Brunch at Tom’s Kitchen, Chelsea
Tom’s Kitchen is a friendly, homely brassiere just off the King’s Road.
A collection of restaurants, delis and bars founded by the award-winning chef Tom Aikens, Tom’s Kitchen covers locations all over London – each with something unique to offer. I was thrilled to be dining at Tom’s Kitchen, Chelsea – a modern British brassiere in a perfect location and within walking distance from the world renowned King’s Road.
Set in a beautiful townhouse, Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea was, in a former life the site of the Blenheim Pub. At first glance it felt like a home from home – warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed with people of all ages, young children and babies… I even saw a cute puppy awww! The decor was modern and rustic, with ceiling fans and an atrium window, which brought in the light.
Tom’s Kitchen, Chelsea offers all day dining – from breakfast to cocktails to dinner, seven days a week. Trying out their brunch menu, I must admit it took me some time to choose – a nice selection to name a few, Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale, Brioche French Toast. I opted for the Tom’s Breakfast Grill and couldn’t remember the last time I had eaten full English that made my mouth water. Wait for it… two fried eggs, bacon, two sausages, grilled tomato, Portobello mushrooms, Heinz baked beans and toast…phew that’s the diet over! It was extremely tasty and filling.
As a special treat I also decided to go for the bubbles and ended up having three glasses with my breakfast feast. Free flowing Prosecco costs a small extra fee of £15.00 to super-luxe your experience. I requested fresh mint tea and a side of honey which came in a cute little tea pot and the waiter kept me topped up on both the mint tea, and bubbles at all times!
Tom’s Kitchen also has a nice selection of drinks which will suit all, including freshly squeezed juices. I really loved the sound of cucumber, apple and mint, which is top of the list for next time.
I didn’t have dessert as I was so satisfied with such a hearty brunch, but there was a mouth-watering selection. From Eton Mess, to Seasonal Poached Summer Fruits (with a dash of alcohol), Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter Parfait, and Summer Sundaes. The standard cheese selection sounded divine. If you’re still in the mood for a fancy drink after all that prosecco and brunch, there’s also Espresso Martini and Brandy Alexander’s on offer too.
With three floors including the main dining area, and two beautiful rooms upstairs for private dining and special events like weddings and christenings, it seems Tom’s Kitchen, Chelsea has it all, while their new small plates concept introduced to the newly refurbished restaurant has been created by Tom Aikens and brought to the guests by Head Chef Daniel Whalen and his team.
Ticking all the boxes for tasty food and great cocktails, Tom’s Kitchen is the perfect restaurant for family and friends to gather in a comfortable warm and inviting environment. Go down and visit you will not be disappointed.
