The story began when Quaglino’s was founded in the roaring 20s 1929 by Giovanni Quaglino, a restaurateur from the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. Quaglino’s won over his guests with a combination of outstanding food and exceptional service. He was known for providing fashionably late supper followed by music and dancing.

Quaglino’s love of good food and impeccable staff sealed Quaglino’s with the stamp of Royal approval. Throughout the years Quaglino’s was a favourite playground of Royalty, Princess Margaret and the Queen and Prince Philip has enjoyed the Quaglino’s experience. Fast forward to 2014 the restaurant re-launched with a brand new glamorous look with a stage fit for a star, courtesy of Russell Sage Studio. Quaglino’s offers a wide range of menus, Saturday and Sunday Q Brunch, Lunch, Dinner and Desserts; Sat Q Brunch add free-flowing bubbles to your meal. Smoked salmon scrambled eggs, toasted brioche, chives, 5g French Aquitaine caviar, your taste buds will be most appreciative; Poached eggs, crushed avocado, Streaky bacon, grilled sourdough, you will not want it to end; Chicken liver parfait, burnt apple, Apple celery and walnut salad, toasted brioche, tasty; Roast corn-fed Cotswold’s chicken breast, fine herb Pomme purée, button mushrooms, sauce chaser, comforting and nourishing. The grills, Sirloin/Rib eye and fillet a classic grill experience. Lunch picks; Oak smoked salmon traditional accompaniments, blini, melted in the mouth. Oyster and Caviar for those who enjoy a most refined taste. Roasted stone bass, Pomme mousseline, foraged sea herbs, Champagne bearer Blanc, luxurious offering. The dinner, Celeriac Veloute, trompette mushroom, black truffle, pure luxury on a plate. Slow cooked rare breed pork belly, roast cauliflower puree cauliflower ceviche, sea herbs and lobster bisque couldn’t think of anywhere I would rather be. This is a small sample of what’s on offer, the menu is totally delicious!

My Quaglino’s experience

The invitation to dine at Quaglino’s was accepted without delay, I love eating out, so was excited to try the Saturday Q Brunch there is an option to add free flowing prosecco, how could I refuse the brunch that everyone was raving about. The Q Brunch has a diverse and tasty menu with lots to choose from, flavour, taste and the most beautiful presentation. Set in luxurious surroundings Quaglinos, is easy to find, a short walk from Green Park station in the heart of St James’s. Quaglino’s is the perfect business lunch or dinner restaurant, whether you are out with friends and family or to impress on a date night, bliss.

Upon arrival when walking into the restaurant I was mesmerised by the sheer luxury and opulence of the décor. The grandeur of the stairs as you walk down into the main restaurant was simply breath taking. The decor is reminiscent of the Great Gatsby, providing a beautiful decadent, sumptuous and yet fun atmosphere. The host was warm and inviting and started by pouring the unlimited Prosecco, what a great start to the ultimate brunch experience.

The host assisted us with the choices on the Q Brunch menu and explained them all in detail. Our choices were; Quinoa, broccoli, orange and pomegranate salad, pine nuts, coriander, tahini and lemon dressing beauty on a plate and so delicious. Buttermilk pancakes, vanilla crème fraiche, berries, streaky bacon, and maple syrup, heavenly. Mains; Half native lobster thermidor, pomme frites and garden salad, total luxury. Wild mushroom and autumn truffle risotto, pickled walnut, aged parmesan and fine herbs, a wonderful dish for a vegetarian palette. Our taste buds were taken on a journey to food heaven.

The prosecco was definitely free flowing, I lost count after the third glass! Pure indulgence! The hostess circulated the menu one last time for us to decide on the dessert choices who could resist; Treacle tart clotted cream and fresh raspberries and white chocolate and lemon brulée, mind blowing, so goodbye diet, it was literally abandoned, but I was okay with that, the Q Brunch was worth every bite.

Conclusion

Quaglino’s should be definitely on the list for a glamorous brunch, lunch or dinner reservation. The menu is exciting, luxurious and full of flavour and texture that will simply send your taste buds yearning for more! The brunch menu was delicious the free flowing prosecco a great touch to make it an extra special experience. Dishes to suit vegetarians, meat and fish lovers. I honestly say every dish I sampled on the menu was delicious! I am extremely impressed by the price point, affordable and delicious in prime central London.
