Celebrating Ski Season at the Novikov’s Chalet

Novikov Restaurant and Bar is located in the most sought after postcode in Mayfair. Novikov Restaurant and Bar is the firm choice of many celebrities, royalty and high flyers or guests that just want to experience premium dishes, in a glamorous setting. Novikov is both stylish and contemporary with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Novikov is the brainchild of Arkady Novikov; he created an empire in Moscow and came to London to continue the trend. The 540-seater establishment holds two restaurants and a Moscow-meets-Mayfair lounge bar in the basement.

Novikov’s Chalet is tucked away in a luxurious space in the lounge bar annex. The Novikov Chalet has been transformed into a hideaway, reminiscent of an alpine lodge in a luxurious ski resort. The Novikov Chalet’s interior design is a space surrounded by sheepskin rugs, candles, scatter cushions, logs and log fires. Fir trees decorated with beautiful lights creating a mood of peace and calm, close to nature. Private places to escape and kick start the New Year into a positive uplifting direction.

My Novikov Aprés-Ski Experience

Upon arrival we were greeted by our hostess who took us downstairs to the Novikov Chalet, it had been a long day so we were looking forward to relaxing in total escapism.

We were shown to our space, a comfortable sofa with scatter cushions with luxuriously soft and cosy sheepskin rugs, draped across the seats. The table was decorated with tea lights and a stand, which held the menu. The waiter served us with chilled strawberries and winterberries; we nibbled on them as we perused the drinks menu. The waiter offered assistance and brought us glasses of the finest rosé champagne to set the mood, result! The Novikov Chalet is placed in the perfect location so you’ll still be part of the Novikov Bar, for when the DJ turns up the heat. The atmosphere was fun, glitzy and super chic.

The Ski Chalet Menu

The menu was perfect for the Novikov Chalet experience, we choose; smoked salmon with rye bread, which was served with creamy cheese and chives and the cheese fondue, they both were mouth-watering and we had fun eating the cheese from the fondue station. The menu also offered smoked speck served with gherkin, rye bread and butter, bratwurst and tartiflette, total winter warmers. The dessert choices were; Mango and passion fruit lava pudding and milk Valrhona chocolate fondant, they were both heavenly. All the dishes were served with an artistic flair to match the gorgeous restaurant surroundings. The other dessert options were; Green tea brûlée with berries, classic tiramisu, pannacotta with mixed berries, exotic fruit platter and deluxe dessert platter.

The conclusion

A luxurious ski lodge experience with an ambience akin to a Swiss ski lodge, it was relaxing and cosy and the perfect escape. The Ski Chalet menu had an exciting menu, including traditional style dishes or sharing platters, such as the cheese fondue.

Novikov’s Chalet is a perfect Après-Ski experience, for those who are not hitting the slopes, but will also act as a taster to get you ready for the ultimate ski trip.
