My Hotel Indigo – 1 Leicester Square experience
The invitation to stay came with utter excitement; I am in love with the roaring 20s stylish and glamorous. I started to daydream about staring in my own Great Gatsby film-epic. Set in the Iconic surroundings of Leicester Square, is was easy to find, a short walk from Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus or Covent Garden a perfect spot for a night out. Hotel Indigo – 1 Leicester Square is in the perfect location, surrounded by theatres, restaurants and bars for a memorable stay-cation or a worldwide traveller.
Upon arrival I walked through the glass art deco inspired golden doors, such a treat, the entrance was very luxurious. The decor was reminiscent of the Great Gatsby providing a beautiful opulent and chilled atmosphere. The reception desk was adorned with gold with a backdrop of art deco inspired glass. The concierge checked me in and showed me to the lift. I walked down the powder blue wall hotel corridor eagerly checking the rooms numbers to see which one was mine, excited to know what was behind those theatrical style doors.
The Room
The most breath taking iconic dressing table with mirror lights that most women would die for-amazing. A retro style telephone which I couldn’t help but use, powder blue curtains, large comfy bed with a teal bed head, a rim of lights around the bed with the numbers of the acts; Act I, Act II and Act III, gold accents throughout the room, grey walls a curved-corner chaise lounge, art deco inspired theatrical themes include framed photos depicting the theatre in the 20s, spot lights and ropes, I was in heaven.
The bathroom was hidden behind glass-ridged doors, the décor metal chrome and white long mirrors with ridges. The bathroom was like a mini spa a beautiful walk-in waterfall style shower with complimentary White Company and Dr Harris & Co Ltd toiletries. White fluffy robe and crisp white towels couldn’t wait to try.
The Panoramic Rooftop Bar and Restaurant
Total glamour is the best words to describe the rooftop at 1 Leicester Square. The décor is floor-to ceiling glass and a wrap-around balcony. The colour palette, alluring blue and blood red stained glass, and art deco brass surround the golden age inspired bar. The views are amazing, 9 storeys above Leicester Square, open for breakfast lunch and dinner you will be in for a great experience. I found a seat just before the outside terrace waiting to be served, the chef recommended a cocktail to sip whilst overlooking a dusk skyline, The Shard, The London Eye and Gherkin is within view. What a fantastic place to truly soak in some of the greatest highlights of London whilst enjoying well-crafted cocktails.
